What's not Included in postpartum doula services?
Postpartum doula care is all about supporting your recovery, your emotional wellbeing, and your growing confidence as a parent. That might look like holding the baby so you can shower, helping you process your birth story, or making sure you have something nourishing to eat, but it’s always grounded in emotional presence and practical support, not task lists.
Here’s what’s not included in postpartum doula services:
- Deep cleaning or full housekeeping
- Running errands
- Medical tasks or clinical advice
- Formal lactation consulting (though I can absolutely help troubleshoot and refer you to specialists)
Think of your postpartum doula as someone who supports and guides, rather than someone who’s there to check things off your to-do list.
